Microsoft Teams Status Control, Multi-Tenant Upgrades, and Admin Enhancements
The 3CX V20 Update 5 Alpha brings exciting new features, including voicemail transcription for PRO users, powered by 3CX AI, OpenAI, and Google engines. Additionally, we’ve added Teams status control and improved multi-tenant support. Here’s an overview of the new features and updates.
Sync Status Between 3CX and Microsoft Teams
We’ve expanded the Office 365 integration to let you configure which statuses sync between 3CX and Microsoft Teams. Learn more here.
Voicemail Transcription for PRO Users
In this update, voicemail transcription is now available for all PRO users, covering three engines: 3CX AI, OpenAI, and Google. Previously, only ENT users had access to OpenAI transcription, while PRO users were limited to Google.
Call Recording Transcription via Email
After a call ends, the transcript can now be emailed directly to recipients. You can search through your emails, including call transcripts, to easily find important conversations.
DID Import Enhancements
You can now import DIDs and automatically assign them to extensions, including the inbound route configuration.
Custom Voicemail Greetings for Queues and Ring Groups
Queues and Ring Groups now have the option to set custom voicemail greetings, adding a more personalized touch to your call flow.
Multi-Tenant Features
Update 5 Alpha introduces new features for multi-tenant setups, including trunk creation for department owners, transcription control per tenant, holiday prompts, and configurable paging and multicast. These improvements give administrators more flexibility and control. Stay tuned for more details in a separate blog post next year!
Customize Avatar Style
You can now customize the avatar shape in the app for all users with the new update, offering a personalized touch for your system.
Auto Configuration for Twilio Trunks
If you have a Twilio account, we can now automatically create and configure the trunk for you, saving time and effort.
Additional Enhancements
• Subscription Expiry Notifications: System owners and managers will receive warnings about expiring subscriptions.
• SMS CID Length Matching: Adjust how caller IDs are matched to conversations.
• CRM Authorization Improvement: The updated process reduces excessive CRM requests and minimizes the risk of blacklisting.
• Import/Export CID Caller ID: Easily export or import CID configurations through “Advanced” > “CID Rules.”
• Immediate Recording Archiving: Recordings are now archived immediately after a call ends for easier storage.
• Mini-Bar Support for Hotels: Added support for mini-bar codes in hotel systems.
• New Call Processing Scripts: New scripts for DID and CID with the ability to upload files. More info coming soon.
• Global Company Phonebook for IP Phones & DECT: Control how often IP phones and DECT devices update the company phonebook, useful for hotels.
• FXS/DECT RPS Support: Simplified provisioning of FXS and DECT devices without manual configuration.
• SBC Alerts Notifications: Improved detection and notifications for SBC alerts.
Get Started with Update 5 Alpha
To experience these new features, update to V20 Update 5 Alpha:
- Log in to the Admin Console.
- Go to System > Updates.
- Select Update 5 Alpha and click Download.
Important: The Alpha version is intended for evaluation only and should not be used in production systems.
